How the UBC Supports the Native American Construction Worker Preference Program
The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America is proud of its ongoing partnership with Native American organizations around the country to promote an active Native American preference program for work done on tribal lands. And as our partners, tribal religious beliefs and traditions are honored and cultural traditions are observed.
This partnership has been several decades in the making, and is built on two principals:
- To provide skills training to increase opportunities for employment on Native American lands; and
- To help support business and economic growth in Native American communities.
Our common goal is for Native Americans to enjoy excellent wages and benefits available as members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) and an improved quality of life for their families and communities.
